Meet The Makers

Get to know the team behind the Alabama Barn Quilt Trail.

Jeremy Painter

Marketing & Events Director

Jeremy Painter serves as the Workshop Facilitator and Marketing & Events Coordinator for the Alabama Barn Quilt Trail. With a creative eye and a community-first mindset, Jeremy helps bring the trail’s mission to life—one painted block and one event at a time.

Jeremy leads hands-on quilt block painting workshops across the state, guiding participants through the process of turning heirloom patterns and personal stories into vibrant works of public art. His approachable teaching style, attention to detail, and passion for craft make each workshop a memorable, meaningful experience.

In addition to facilitating workshops, Jeremy oversees the trail’s outreach, helping plan events, building partnerships, and promotes the project through media and storytelling. His work ensures that every block placed along the trail doesn’t just beautify Alabama’s landscape—it strengthens its communities, too.

Regina Painter

Founder & Executive Director

Regina Painter is the visionary behind the Alabama Barn Quilt Trail. Inspired by the vibrant quilt trails she encountered across the United States, Regina set out to bring that same spirit of color, craft, and connection to her home state of Alabama.

With a lifelong love of quilting and a deep appreciation for community storytelling, Regina saw barn quilts as more than just painted squares—they’re living symbols of heritage, resilience, and place. She launched the Alabama Barn Quilt Trail to unite rural counties, celebrate local history, and transform backroads into a canvas of public art.

As Executive Director, Regina works closely with artists, landowners, volunteers, and supporters to ensure every quilt block added to the trail reflects the authenticity and character of Alabama. Her leadership is driven by a commitment to cultural preservation, tourism, and creative community development—one quilt block at a time.

Looking to Get Involved?

Every block has a story.
Every story needs a hand to help tell it.

Just like quilts, the best ones are made with many hands coming together to create something more beautiful that you can do alone. From installing new quilt blocks to helping at workshops and events, our volunteers make the trail possible. Whether you have a few hours or a big idea—we’d love to have you join us.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Volunteer opportunities can include painting, helping gathering folks for workshops, even helping drive community connections for quilt blocks on the Trail. There's room for you!
