Regina Painter is the visionary behind the Alabama Barn Quilt Trail. Inspired by the vibrant quilt trails she encountered across the United States, Regina set out to bring that same spirit of color, craft, and connection to her home state of Alabama.
With a lifelong love of quilting and a deep appreciation for community storytelling, Regina saw barn quilts as more than just painted squares—they’re living symbols of heritage, resilience, and place. She launched the Alabama Barn Quilt Trail to unite rural counties, celebrate local history, and transform backroads into a canvas of public art.
As Executive Director, Regina works closely with artists, landowners, volunteers, and supporters to ensure every quilt block added to the trail reflects the authenticity and character of Alabama. Her leadership is driven by a commitment to cultural preservation, tourism, and creative community development—one quilt block at a time.
